Recently, G Hotel Manila by Waterfront opened its doors to the public to allow them to experience another Waterfront excellence in the heart of Manila. Two months preparation was all it takes for the corporate management group of Waterfront Philippines, Inc. to open another hotel concept in the country. G hotel is a great example of a boutique hotel, which has gathered a large following in developed countries. Boutique hotels differentiate themselves from other conventional hotels based on the smallness of the property, but focusing on the unique brand offering where, for G Hotel Manila it is the twenty-four hour personalized butler service.
G is for GREAT balance of style and substance that the property showcases in its very chic black and white lobby. Everybody was awed when they entered G during its launching last November 17, 2006. G’s lobby was adorned in black and white from the doors to Café Noir, the hotel’s coffee shop, to the last step before they enter the elevators.
As the guests stepped out at the seventh floor where the main event was about to happen, they were welcomed by a dusk of gold in the Promenade, the hotel’s ball room, with a grand view of the night sky overlooking the Manila Bay.
Mr. Rexlon Gatchalian, President of Waterfront Philippines, Inc. introduce the new hotel concept in the heart of Manila. Known for his dynamism in the hotel industry, the 27-year old hotel
When asked about how was it made possible that a first class new hotel concept be opened with too short a preparation, Mr. Yuri Mangondaya, Hotel Manager of G retorted “ It was never been that hard for us, since G has been backed by the concept team of Waterfront Hotels and Casinos, which basically comprised of all the corporate officers. All of them are Filipinos except for the Group Executive Chef who is a Foreigner, but very much Filipino at heart. Well, the butler training seems hard at first, but with the help of Peers Resources and Development Division headed by Ms. Gaye Maureen Cenabre, Director of PRDD and Ms. Agnes Lucente, Group Training Manager, the Club Ambassador concept and service orientation of Waterfront was just transferred to G. Everybody worked in achieving their timelines, that’s why when the responsibility was turned over to the operations group, it was just like as if we are running another Waterfront Hotel, but this time it only consists of fifty rooms, which made it easier for us to make sure that we provide personalized service and attain total guest satisfaction. What more can we ask for, the two General Managers of the two biggest Waterfront properties spearheaded the concept team. Both Mr. Marco Protacio, GM of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Ms. Fay Paras GM of Manila Pavilion Hotel were the ones who headed the conceptualization and feasibility studies.”
G Hotel Manila will be looped in the system of Waterfront using the OPERA System for both Property Management (Front Office) and Marketing (Sales and Catering.) These were made possible through the help of Waterfront’s Group Standardization and Revenue Manager Ms. Corky Cotello and her team. Not to forget that food at Waterfront properties has always been exemplarily good and the same is to be expected with G as Group Executive Chef Nick Anderson of Waterfront Hotels and Casinos once again showed his unremarkable skills in the development of menus of G.
To date, Waterfront Philippines Inc. is the country’s largest Filipino-owned and managed first class hotel chain.
